If you are a fan of books where everyone gets a happy ending, no one dies, no one is evil, flowers and unicorns are everywhere, do not read a Darren Shan book. If you like things a little more realistically gory, and are okay with characters not living through a whole series, Darren Shan might be your guy.
That being said, Mr. Shan, how could you?
There is not a whole lot I can say without spoilers. Let just say there is is death, destruction, and a prison break.
